Next up is the song featuring Nicki Minaj “Dark Side of the Moon”. This song really reminds me of Lil Wayne back 10 years or more ago, with what he’s rapping about to his flow on this song this is homage to himself for not being able to be broken throughout his career as he raps ” G code, g code, we can’t break the g code.”. The beat hits first then the vocals, which is followed by Wayne. After is the track “Can’t be broken” which is another personal favourite of mine. The Travis feature is great on the track and with Wayne coming in on the end they sound & float on the track perfectly.

I feel as though Wayne is including newer artists to prove he still has what it takes to keep up with the new generation, “Let it fly” is proof to that. Moving on after “Uproar” is the track “Let it fly” featuring Travis Scott. With many of these songs on Carter V its refreshing to hear a younger sounding Wayne again. With the many years Lil Wayne has had between The Carter 4 to The Carter V, he hasn’t made to much of a buzz around him as he had in prior years. Also putting Swizz Beatz production on his song “Uproar” bring back some of the older Wayne sounding style & flow which was forgotten about but now brought back to remind people of what they’re missing when it comes to Wayne.

This is one of my favourite songs on the album personally. Than bring more emotion to the listeners with “Don’t Cry” featuring XXXTENTACION, who has passed away a couple of months ago. Starting the album with his mother talking about what Wayne is to her and how much she loves him as a person and also for what Wayne has done for her, Carter V starts with a very emotional note. To be honest this project is much better than I thought it to be, reminding many not only me as to why Lil Wayne is considered to be a living legend. After much drama between Wayne & Birdman, with Birdman holding this album captive for many years, it has finally been release on September, 28, 2018. The Carter V, a much anticipated album by Lil Wayne.
